An exceptional applicant is sought for the fifth year of an exciting, unique and innovative primary care traineeship. Equip yourself with the skills and experience for a part in advancing pharmacist roles in GP surgeries and the wider primary care team.

You will join a team of 8 GPs, 4 Pharmacist Independent Prescribers, a Clinical Services Pharmacist & 6 Pharmacy Techs delivering care to nursing homes and community patients. The Nursing Home Service won BMJ Primary Care Team of the Year 2015 and the 2016 GP Awards prize for Long Term Conditions. We have been shortlisted for the 2017 Clinical Pharmacy Congress ‘Excellence in GP Pharmacy’ award.

We are proud to have trained the RPS Pre-Reg of the Year 2015.

Your Senior GP Practice Pharmacist tutor, Dr Graham Stretch won the RPS Clinical Pharmacist of the Year 2016. Our lead technician, Helen Pinney, won APTUK’s Pharmacy Technician of the Year 2016.

We have a research based ethos, sponsoring a PhD program with Reading School of Pharmacy and supporting trainees to publish research and attend national conferences. The Ealing GP Pharmacy team has pharmacists working on the NHS England Clinical Pharmacists in GP Pilot and ‘Roll-Out’

The wider GP pharmacy team provides pharmaceutical care in 12 local surgeries serving >80,000 patients.

Our training programme

At the surgery each week you will enjoy a clinical session with a GP, a patient facing clinic with a clinical pharmacist and a clinical pharmacist care home ward round. The remaining sessions are spent managing medicines and helping to deliver our innovative pharmacist lead care in GP surgeries. The busy community pharmacy where you spend half of your time has three full time pharmacists and two trainees.
