What is Omeprazole?
Omeprazole belongs to group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. It decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Omeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid.
What is Acid Reflux?
When acid from the stomach leaks up into the gullet (oesophagus), the condition is known as acid reflux. This may cause heartburn and other symptoms.
What is Heartburn?
Heartburn is a painful burning feeling just below or behind the breastbone. It usually comes from the oesophagus. The pain often rises in your chest and may spread to your neck or throat.
What is Losec or Prilosec?
Losec and Prilosec are branded versions of omeprazole. We sell the generic version which is medically identical and equally as effective.
How to take?
Omeprazole is usually taken before eating. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Omeprazole Orodispersible tablets can be placed directly in the mouth for fastest action. They can also be dissolved in water, or fruit juice. Please note that Omeprazole Orodispersible tablets must be taken as soon as they are removed from the blister. Moisture in the air can disintegrate the tablet so they must remain in the blister until required.
