What is Nasonex (Mometasone Furoate Monohydrate)?
Mometasone (known by its branded equivalent, Nasonex) nasal spray is used to ease nasal symptoms caused by both seasonal allergic rihinitis (hay fever) and year-round allergic rhinitis.
Mometasone nasal spray helps to treat nasal allergy symptoms associated with hay fever for adults and children 12 years and older. It is a non-drowsy medication that is both scent-free and alcohol-free
How the medication works
Mometasone belongs to a group of medicines known as corticosteroids. These medicines work by actively reducing inflammation and swelling in order to relieve the symptoms associated with hay fever, such as itchy eyes and nose, sneezing and congestion.
It is recommended that you start applying the nasal spray in advance of the pollen season and continue to use it throughout and is also worth noting that the nasal spray can take a few days to have its full effect.
How to take?
To treat allergies such as hay fever, adults and children aged 12 years and over should use two sprays in each nostril once a day. Once the symptoms are under control, the dosage can reduced to one spray in each nostril per day.
Common Side Effects

|01-May-2019||As someone with a deviated septum and bad hayfever allergies this spray is a lifesaver during spring|
|23-Apr-2019||it is helpful, and give you relief couple of hours|
This really is the only nasal-spray that treats my occasional but awful 'allergic rhinitis' attacks. I have tried several others.
My GP first introduced me to Nasonex, but now flatly refuses to let me have anymore, for no apparent reason i.e. I use it very occasionally and understand all the 'negatives' about it.
|19-Nov-2018||Only thing that controls my hay fever.|
