Priligy is a prescription medication designed to effectively tackle symptoms of premature ejaculation in men. It is the only approved premature ejaculation treatment in the UK.

What is Priligy?

Priligy uses the active ingredient dapoxetine in order to act as an effective premature ejaculation medication. Priligy belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors, or SSRIs.

49% of men suffer from premature ejaculation at some point, but only 9% feel comfortable enough to speak to their doctor about it. Ordering Priligy from Express Pharmacy represents a discreet, safe and reliable treatment for those suffering from premature ejaculation.

Originally developed as a treatment for depression, Priligy was re-labelled as an effective treatment for premature ejaculation when it was discovered that serotonin had a significant impact on the time taken to reach male ejaculation.

Dapoxetine is heavily associated with SSRIs as it raises levels of serotonin. This then raises nerve signal transmissions, which gives you more control over ejaculation.

Why Priligy?

Numerous clinical trials have revealed the effectiveness of Priligy as a method of premature ejaculation treatment. The benefits of Priligy include:

  • Extension in the length of sexual performance before ejaculation. This increase of sexual activity time could be as much as 200 to 300%
  • Greater feeling of satisfaction after sexual intercourse
  • Improved sexual experience
  • More control over ejaculation
  • Improved long-term sex life
  • Reduction in stress and anxiety by treating the condition early
  • Increased intra-vaginal ejaculatory latency time

Priligy can also lead to an increase in sexual confidence and an improvement in the sexual confidence of your partner too.

How it works

As Priligy is part of the family of medicines known as SSRIs, this gives the medication control over the way serotonin moves within your body during sexual intercourse. As such, Priligy is an effective method of premature ejaculation treatment.

SSRIs selectively slow and prevent the re-uptake of serotonin in your neural cells. This helps control premature ejaculation as, in order to ejaculate, a reflex must pass from your brain to your sympathetic nervous system.

The serotonin re-uptake acted out via SSRIs like Priligy stops the ejaculatory expulsion reflex from reaching your brain quickly. This helps prevent premature ejaculation. By preventing this action from taking place, premature ejaculation medication like Priligy provides the user with increased control over their ejaculation. This could result in increasing the duration of sexual activity by anywhere up to 300%.

How to take Priligy

Priligy comes in the forms of oral capsules.

Take one Priligy capsule between one and three hours before sexual activity. The treatment can be taken with or without food, though the consumption of alcohol alongside the medication is not advised. You should not take more than one capsule within a 24-hour period.

If you do consume more than one tablet in a single day, contact a medical professional as soon as possible.

What dosages are available?

Priligy is available in both 30g and 60mg doses. Usually, a 30g dose is given as a starting dose, as this has been shown to offer the best results with minimal to no side effects. However, if this dose is ineffective in improving your premature ejaculation symptoms, the 60mg dose can be prescribed.

Dapoxetine can be taken safely if you are over the age of 18, though it is not advised if you are over the age of 64.

Is Priligy discreet?

You should never be too embarrassed to seek medical care for your concerns, but unfortunately a significant proportion of men living with premature ejaculation do not feel comfortable enough to speak about it with a healthcare professional. This leaves many men simply trying to learn to live with premature ejaculation.

Like all medication from Express Pharmacy, ordering Priligy is a discreet process, and the medication will arrive at your door in discreet packaging which will not give away the contents.

Side Effects

Clinical tests found that most men could use Priligy as their premature ejaculation medication without experiencing any side effects. However, like most prescription medications there are a small number of potential side effects attached to dapoxetine. These include:

  • Headaches
  • Diarrhoea
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea

These symptoms are generally mild to moderate when they do occur.

Ingesting Priligy alongside alcohol has been shown to increase the effects alcohol has on the body and increase your risk of side effects. On that basis, alcohol consumption is not advised when using a course of the premature ejaculation treatment. You should also seek medical advice before using Priligy if you are currently on any other prescription medication.
