Product Details

Wellwoman Vegan is Vitabiotics’ first ever supplement that has been developed and formulated for women on a vegan or vegetarian diet. Officially approved and registered by both The Vegetarian and The Vegan Society, the supplement aims to safeguard those avoiding animal by-products, while still providing nutritional support.

Supplements are often recommended to vegans due to the vitamins they miss out on in their day-to-day diet. Vitamin B12, for example, is commonly found in animal-derived products such as meat, fish and eggs, and is less common in plant-based foods. Vitamin B12 supports the cell formation of normal red blood cells as well as providing support to the immune system, so is an important source to obtain for overall health.

Wellwoman Vegan also includes higher levels of Iron, a mineral usually sourced in red meat, which contributes to the normal formation of haemoglobin and red blood cells. Due to the amount of blood women lose throughout their menstrual cycle, they often require a higher quantity of iron than men do, so is an important factor of the supplement’s formula. Iron also contributes to normal energy release, and those who don’t get enough Iron within their diets can run the risk of developing either an iron deficiency or a health condition such as anaemia.

Wellwoman Vegan contains Vitamin B6, to help provide a contribution to both the regulation of hormonal activity and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. The supplement also contains 400 µg Folic Acid, which promotes support to normal maternal tissue growth throughout pregnancy – important for those who may be pregnant or are planning a pregnancy.

Many vegans can struggle to ensure they are getting enough Vitamin D within their diets, since this is commonly produced in non-vegan foods such as fish and egg yolks. The Wellwoman Vegan supplement contains 10µg of vegan-friendly Vitamin D in its formula, which is the same level that is recommended by The UK Department of Health. Vitamin D not only contributes to the normal function of the immune system, but also supports the maintenance of our teeth and bones. For vegan and vegetarian women, this supplement could be an ideal source of dietary support for their nutrition.

Why Wellwoman Vegan?

The Wellwoman Vegan supplement has been specifically formulated to provide a comprehensive multivitamin for women following a vegan or vegetarian diet. Developed with elements of Evening Primrose and Starflower Oil, Wellwoman Vegan contains 24 nutrients that help to provide extra dietary support to those eating a plant-based diet.

The supplement has been created specifically for women, and therefore contains the precise levels of support and nutrition for women within its formula. Higher levels of Iron and Vitamin B12 are contained within Wellwoman Vegan compared to other Wellwoman Original products, ensuring the necessary amount of these minerals are ensured.

Who Is Wellwoman Vegan Recommended For?

As a daily nutritional supplement, Wellwoman Vegan is recommended for women of all ages that want a nutritional safeguard for their general health. Many of us lead a hectic and busy lifestyle, which means products like Wellwoman Vegan are ideal in providing a wide variety of nutrients that can support our health and vitality.

Wellwoman Vegan has been developed specifically for women, and therefore includes vitamins and minerals that are most relevant to our overall health, such as Vitamin B6, which contributes to the management of hormonal activity. Wellwoman Vegan also includes Iron in its carefully balanced formula, which may be of particular importance to those enduring a monthly cycle, as Iron contributes to the normal function of the red blood cells, and of haemoglobin.

Wellwoman Vegan is both free from animal by-products and has not been tested on animals, which is of particular importance to those who eat a plant-based diet or live a vegan lifestyle. A vegan diet is a strict eating regime and way of life that excludes, as far as is possible, any animal by-products. This not only refers to the use of animal by-products within ingredients and recipes, but also counts for the exploitation or cruelty of animals. For that majority of vegans, this way of living is a lifestyle as much as it is a diet, and these philosophies are practiced in all aspects of day-to-day life including care for the environment.

Can I Take Wellwoman Vegan Alongside Other Medications?

Wellwoman Vegan is free from any drugs or hormones, and because it contains moderate levels of vitamins and minerals, it can generally be taken alongside other medications. However, we would recommend that you contact your doctor or health professional for specific advice on taking Wellwoman Vegan with medicines. The supplement may be used alongside the contraceptive pill.

Can I Take Wellwoman Vegan During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding?

During pregnancy, we recommend taking a multivitamin supplement that has been specifically developed for pregnancy, such as Vitabiotics’ Pregnacare. The Pregnacare supplement has been formulated with a carefully balanced blend of 19 vitamins and minerals that can be used throughout your entire pregnancy, as well as before conception and while breastfeeding. Pregnacare is recommended as soon as you start trying to conceive. That being said, Wellwoman Vegan does contain 400µg Folic acid and 10µg Vitamin D (the quantities recommended by The UK Department of Health), so there is no problem for women who become pregnant while already taking the supplement.

Pregnacare Original and Pregnacare Liquid are supplements that are suitable for vegetarians, however Pregnacare Gummies are the only product within the range that is suitable for vegans.

Are There Any Known Side-Effects Of Wellwoman Vegan?

There are no known side-effects to Wellwoman Vegan when taken as directed. The recommended intake should never be exceeded, and in the case of an overdose, you should seek medical advice immediately.

What Nutrients Are Included in Wellwoman Vegan?

Wellwoman Vegan includes Vitamin K, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, Iron, Folic Acid, Selenium and Magnesium, Citrus Bioflavonoids, Evening Primrose and Starflower Oil. Please see the nutritional information for more details.

How Long Will It Take Before I Experience Any Benefit?

In most cases, the beneficial impacts of the vitamins and minerals would be expected to build over several weeks of taking Wellwoman Vegan – with noticeable results occurring in one to three months. However, results do vary for each individual. A regular intake of the supplement is recommended, and there is no maximum length of time in which Wellwoman Vegan can be used.

How Often Do I Need To Buy Wellwoman Vegan?

Since each Wellwoman Vegan pack contains a one-month supply (30 tablets), we would recommend that you buy one pack every month.

What If I Need Help Swallowing A Tablet or Capsule?

Many people find it difficult to swallow tablets, resulting in Vitabiotics taking on their own research to find some recommendations of ways that could help. One recommendation is to chew some food, and before you swallow, put the tablet into your mouth to swallow both the tablet and food together. Follow this with some liquid. When chewing food, our throats open wider and therefore the tablet may go down easier than when on its own. Another tip is to swallow a tablet with a smoothie or some yoghurt, as these are thicker liquids and may help.

Is It Safe For Some Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) Levels To Be Above 100%?

Some vitamins are perfectly safe to consume at levels that are tens or hundreds of times the NRV (The Nutrient Reference Value). Every vitamin and mineral needs to be evaluated on an individual basis with regards to its upper safe level.

The NRV refers to the daily allowance of vitamin intake. Certain vitamins and minerals at optimal levels have shown to have positive benefits in specific areas of health when above the NRV, resulting in some Vitabiotics’ formulas and supplements having particular nutrient levels higher than 100% NRV.

Vitabiotics avoids ‘mega dose’ levels of isolated nutrients, and develops products based on the most recent research. This prevents you from taking excessive amounts of vitamins and minerals, and ensures they are in accordance with official upper safe limits. Vitabiotics stresses the seriousness of safe, sensible and moderate levels of vitamins and minerals, and ensures they are carefully balanced to expand their combined effectiveness.
